I Have Whitled My Choice Down To Two. . .

 From the outset, let me be clear, I am a “general election” undecided voter.

 In the Democratic Nomination Race. . . I have made my mind up regarding supporting Senator Obama as the nominee. The following are my reasons why;

#1-There was a process regarding the primary, dates of primaries to be held, and clearly defined penalties for those states that would not comply. Michigan and Florida’s legislatures were penalized under the aforementioned rules. All Democratic Candidates agreed to this process inclusive of the stated penalties. The Clinton’s have yet to deny this, however, they are painting a false picture in the “court of public opinion” that there is a “THEY” who is somehow disenfranchising the voters of Florida and Michigan, and not allowing the will of the people to stand. Senator Obama took his name off of the ballot in Michigan, and did not actively campaign in Michigan or Florida. Senator Clinton is declaring that she is ahead in the popular vote as a result of Michigan and Florida’s votes that were not to be honored under the rules.

#2-Senator Clinton won “lopsided” victories in areas that are notoriously known for racism, prejudice, and open bigotry. This area, Appalachia, is being declared to house “white, lower middle to middle class hard working voters”. Senator Clinton has not won overwhelmingly in areas outside of Appalachia. In fact, Senator Clinton was on the other side of many of these contests. If the Senator won, she barely won. When she lost, and she lost more than she won, she often lost by large margins. With this fact in mind, Senator Clinton, former President Clinton, and many of their surrogates, were more than happy to reap the votes of these who would declare how they did not believe that America was ready for a Black President. The Clinton camp was more than happy to court the votes of those who fit the “demographic” of being determined not to vote for Senator Obama simply because he is Black. Many have ignorantly stated that Blacks, by their block voting for Senator Obama, were the first to play the “Race Card”. There is a distinct difference between racism and favoritism. There was a time that Blacks overwhelmingly favored the Clintons; enough to call former President Clinton the “first Black President; a distinction he once cherished. Historically, Blacks have always supported White candidates and the Democratic Party, inclusive of the Clinton's.

#3-Senator Obama has had many bombs explode in his campaign. Rev. Wright, “guns and religion comments”, attempts to link him with “unsavory” people. Senator Clinton seized upon each and every opportunity to exploit these bombs. When the tide has turned and Senator Clinton had bombs explode (Bosnia, the twice mention of the “assassination” of RFK, Senator Clinton’s continual propensity to the disingenuous), Senator Obama consistently took the HIGH ROAD, and he continues to do so.

I could go on. The issues stated, with the possibly of many more, far outweigh Senator Obama’s inexperience in foreign matters, newness in elected office, and tags of “ultra-liberalism”. Senator Obama is not perfect; far from it. But he has proven to have the ability to work with people of all races, economic backgrounds, education level, and places in life. Senator Clinton has proven to be the candidate that polarizes and perpetuates differences; differences that are deep, often without explanation, and continually damaging to the fabric of the United States of America.

I am still yet undecided about my choice in the general election; however I am definite in my resolve that Senator Hillary Rodham-Clinton has ceased to be a viable choice for the office of President of the United States.
